School is expensive! Whether you are at a community college, cal state, UC or even a private school, being an AB540 student means you have to pay through college. So how do people do it? SCHOLARSHIPS!
What are Scholarships?
In two words: Free Money. You read correctly, Free Money! Scholarships are monetary awards given to students to continue their education. Many of you may ask: How do I go about getting scholarships? The answer is simple: apply, apply, apply to as many scholarships as you can! After all, with all the stress that college brings, you do not want to be worrying about money. The unfortunate reality for many AB540 students is that we are constantly thinking about how we are going to pay for next quarter/semester. Scholarships can help pay for a large amount of your bills but the only way you will get them is if you actively pursue them. After all, scholarships are not going to go out of their way to find you.
